NanoSun presents industrial water solutions at the USS R&I Congress 2026

February 2026 · Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore

NanoSun presenting on PFAS removal at the USS R&I Congress 2026 industrial water session

NanoSun was honoured to present at Tech Business Session 1: Industrial Water Solutions at the Urban Solutions and Sustainability Research & Innovation (USS R&I) Congress 2026, held on 5–6 February at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Organised by the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment under the theme "Re-inventing Cities of Tomorrow", the congress brought together some 2,000 participants from government agencies, academia and industry — and we were proud to stand among them representing Singapore's water innovation ecosystem.

Taking the stage at the PUB-hosted industrial water session, we shared the emerging challenge our team has set out to solve: per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — the "forever chemicals" accumulating in modern cities, and the growing threat they pose to water safety. We presented how our advanced hybrid treatment technology has demonstrated the ability to remove these persistent chemicals from water streams, moving a problem long considered intractable toward a practical, deployable solution.

We also shared what partnership with NanoSun looks like in practice: organisations working with us to strengthen their water sustainability, materially lowering the cost of treating difficult water streams, and collaborating with commercial enterprises to bring advanced treatment technologies into everyday industrial operation — from semiconductor fabs to specialty chemicals.

The congress was also a timely signal for companies like ours. Among the announcements was a new S$40 million USS Translation Fund to help local companies develop, pilot and commercialise urban and sustainability solutions across sectors including water — exactly the bridge from laboratory innovation to deployed infrastructure that NanoSun has walked since our NTU spin-off days, and one we look forward to helping more partners cross.

Our thanks to the organisers and to PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, for the platform — and to everyone who visited us with questions, ideas and partnership propositions. The future of water is being written in rooms like these.
