NanoSun wins the IES Sustainability Award 2025

NanoSun is proud to have received the IES Sustainability Award 2025 from The Institution of Engineers, Singapore, presented at the IES 59th Annual Dinner on 3 November 2025. The evening gathered some 1,200 members of Singapore's engineering community under the theme "Engineering Our Singapore Together", with Mr Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence, gracing the event as principal guest.

The award recognises our work on one of industrial water's hardest problems: recovering water from high-strength wastewater. Working with Croda and PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, our team reinvented the treatment train around our innovative nanobubble Catalytic Oxidation System (n-COS) — using ultra-fine bubbles and catalytic oxidation to break down stubborn organics that conventional processes cannot touch, and turning what was once a disposal liability into recoverable water.

For us, this recognition caps a journey that began with winning the Jurong Island Innovation Challenge in 2021, supported by Enterprise Singapore and JTC, and continued in early 2025 when Croda Singapore partnered with us to build an advanced wastewater treatment facility at its Seraya manufacturing site on Jurong Island — a plant that will convert the site's most difficult effluent into water fit for reuse.

Receiving this award on stage alongside our partners was a moment of real pride for the whole NanoSun team — and a reminder of why we do this work: engineering, applied with persistence, can change what industry believes is possible with water.
